As time goes by the role of Poland in the European Union solidifies.
However, in the fourth year of our membership in this Pan-European project new challenges
arise that have to be facted by the managers, regulators and scholars alike. For this
reason we decided to edit a book on issues that are salient and important in the
contemporary economic and managerial debate in Poland.
The main motor of economic growth in a post-communist country should be small
enterpreneurship. Although Poles are widely known for their entrepreneurial skills,
today's turbulent economy requires a lotmore to complete globally. Success is more likely
ehen enterpreneurs' efforts are supported by transfer of knowlege from the academia. That
is why the research on entrepreneurship, knowledge management, and managerial competencies
is so vividly present in our book.
